We enjoyed a great day of food and family this Thanksgiving. Caroline joyfully participated the guy's "throwing of the football" tradition and got a huge kick out of running with the ball. "Dolly," her latest love, attended Thanksgiving as well and was never out of sight! Emma entertained us all with her favorite new word "Dawwwwggg" and loved climbing all over Birdie's brother Rudy and practicing her standing skills. Thanks to cousin Carey for all of the great photos she shared.

"Punkins"
Welcome back Myers Family blog followers. We've had a busy fall and neglected our beloved blog. It's never a dull moment with our two little girls and we love sharing their stories, photos and funny moments. Here's a look at them during one of several visits to the "Punkin" Patch. Emma loved sitting in the middle of the baby patch. Smiling for a photo was an interruption to Caroline as she zoomed around touching each and every pumpkin and pointed out their colors and bumps. Our request for a photo of them together was met with one resounding word "Noooooah!" Gotta love a 2-year-old!

The Beach
We spent last week in Rockport and enjoyed much fun in the sun. Caroline, or "Keyline (as she calls herself)" didn't take to the actual beach like we had anticipated (gotta love a finicky toddler) and the highlights of the trip for her were climbing all of the stairs at the beach house, walking to the ocean to observe the plentiful "big cranes" and seagulls and feeding her two adopted pet ducks. Each morning and evening two ducks made their way down the channel behind the house and Caroline filled their bellies with bread. EmmyLulu embraced the beach by sampling a little wet sand as a snack, mornings and evenings on the deck, playing with shells and the fresh sea air at the marina restaurant. Capturing a decent picture of the both of them these days is quite possibly one of the most difficult tasks we have yet encountered but here are a few of our attempts....

Emma 7 Months
Our Emma is full-of-it these days and loves watching everybody and everything, sitting up, playing with toys (one in each hand preferred), eating all types of baby food and finger snacks (she has yet to meet a flavor she does not like) giggling and learning to crawl. She's full of funny faces and grins and loves, loves, loves to laugh. Her laugh is hilarious, contagious and often and we can't get enough!
We're back!

After a longer than anticipated blog break, "we" (ok..."I") have vowed to return to blogging about our ever-changing, funny little chicks. This summer has been a busy one with much more fun in store before we head into fall including a trip to Anderson, Indiana for Caroline and Emma's Great Great Grandmother's 100th Birthday celebration and a week at the beach in late August. We'll start by playing catch up with a few highlights...C & E visiting Grandma & Grandpa Myers' farm during our road trip to "Okeyoma" in July, Welcome to our new cousin, "Baby Anna" Sharpe and a recent trip to Costco....priceless!

Happy Father's Day
As we celebrate Father's Day today, we would like to share a passage from a favorite book of ours...one Ryan received before Caroline was born. Many, many thanks from these two little girls to their Daddy for being their favorite person with whom to play, laugh and love.
Raising a girl takes two parents:
A mom to show her how to be a woman. A dad to show her how to be independent. A dad's job is to make his daughter courageous. Fearless. To make her feel beautiful. To give her a sense of adventure. To make her feel secure and confident. The relationship between a dad and a daughter is very simple: She will love her father and trust him completely, forever. Because he's her first love. Her first hero. The first man in her life. "Father to Daughter" by Harry H. Harrison, Jr.

Hip-Ohhhh

Caroline and Ryan have spent several afternoons at the Zoo lately and our goofball's favorite place to visit is the Hippo pond. At first she was unsure of the oh-so-large mammals that were within inches of her (fortunately separated by thick glass), she has come to request them first with any new trip to the Zoo. We realize this fascination will soon fade and are happy to have a few pictures and a video to remember her "Hip-Ohhhhh's."
Ring around the rosy
Caroline learned "ring around the rosy" recently from Henry and his friend, Mia, and loves watching the video her dad captured of her play time. She very frequently requests a viewing of this video and will giddily accept any one's invitation to "rosy" with her.

Emma 5 Months

Our budding wild woman at 5 months....Emma is curious, adventurous and LOUD! To say she found her voice this month is a giant understatement. She loves smiling and giggling (especially at her sister), making noise with her exersaucer and toys and flipping back and forth from her back to her belly. She also loves, loves, loves to eat and has already sampled several baby food flavors much to her delight. We love her chubby cheeks and thighs and silly (lack of) hair and predict she's going to be more of a handful for us than her sister. Uh-oh!!!

Sisters
Our favorite moments of late are watching our girls together. Emma is most aware of her big sister and finds her completely hilarious, greeting her frequently with a contagious giggle we can't get enough of. Caroline loves to hear her giggle and will gladly entertain little Emma, especially with an audience present. We know this is just the beginning of their relationship and what a special one it will be! Splash Dance
Caroline has taken her dance moves to the baby pool while enjoying the warm pre-summer weather.

Happy Spring
Greetings blog followers! We hope you are enjoying Spring as much as we are. Being "outtide" is Caroline's favorite activity and wildflowers, doodlebugs, bubbles, chalk and rocks are an endless source of fun. She's traded the cast for her dancing shoes again and is ever the entertainer and chatterbox, surprising us each day with new words and phrases. We're working on her whispering voice (mostly for her sister's benefit) and finding it's beyond challenging!
Her sister, whom she greets daily with this ear-piercing expression... "Hiiiiiii Emmmmmmy" is almost 4 months old already and loving stroller rides, baths, playing on her floor gym and giggling. We think Emma is sweet-natured and laid-back compared to her high-energy-often-dramatic-clown of an older sister and look forward to the coming months to learn more about her budding personality.

Caroline's (1st) Cast

We are a week or so late posting this picture but had to share before her crayon-covered, stinky, neon pink cast is removed on Friday. If you were to ask her what happened to her foot, she'd tell you "i-boke-it," which is unfortunately true....a foot fracture resulting from a tumble two weeks ago. We'd like to hope this is her first and last broken bone but aren't so optimistic with her first injury occurring at 18 months. Thank goodness we are learning that toddlers are resilient....much more so than the parents of them!

Emma 2 Months
Emma is 2 months old already and went to the doctor this week to learn she is nearly 12 pounds and has grown 2 inches since birth. Both the nurse and doctor commented on her oh-so-round belly!
She loves to smile, coo and make gurgling sounds at us, which we just adore! She's loving her stroller time and the fresh spring air after so much cold weather in her first month.

Happy Feet
Caroline has learned a few new dance moves and LOVES an audience with whom to share them.
February
Wow. What happened to February? We sure have our hands full with these 2 little girls and hope to get back to regular blogging about them really soon. Here's a look at what's been going on around here. Emma is 8 weeks tomorrow and full of smirks and coo's. Her fusses are rare and she has (fortunately) mastered napping through her squealing sister and Sesame Street. She is laid back, sweet and such a blessing. We can't wait to watch her little personality develop in the coming months. Caroline is now 17 months and into everything. She has become quite fond of dancing (video to follow), climbing, anything she can splash, crayons, bubbles, stickers and books. She thinks her sister is pretty funny and kissable and especially enjoys sharing her crib with her when she's watching her mobile.

Emma 3 Weeks
Here's our little Emma in her first few weeks. We love having her at home and are entertained by her many baby noises. Big sister Caroline loves kissing her head and will happily show our guests where her sister "Mma" is when asked. Caroline still loves emptying drawers and has recently discovered new kitchen cabinets to explore. When out of our sight for a few minutes, we often find her into something "fun" as seen in a picture below from last weekend.
